As previously reported we've been waiting for the end of the strike so we can learn our Disney/ABC TV Writing Fellowship fate.
As the world knows, the strike is over. It officially ended Tuesday night. So we started obsessing over the imminent phone call. Wednesday passes. No call. Thursday passes. No call. Friday arrives along with an email from the ABC HR department. We had to call some covert line and enter in some Jack Bauer CTU 6-digit code so they can begin our background check. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? WE HAVEN"T GOT TIME!
24 has been postponed until January of 2009. Let's hope our fellowship doesn't suffer the same fate. But let's first hope that we get said fellowship.

I'd say the fact that they're doing a background check is a very good sign!
Until, of course, they do the background check. And then you're both fucked.
I have to sign a background check authorization form when I register with a garden-variety recruiter. I'm surprised Mickey didn't have you sign one of these already. BTW, did they fingerprint you to go on The Cocktail Party Ride?
oh crap! Now they will find out about brian's past - dressing up in a gorilla costume to scare townfolks, singing for a group named the Reapers, arrested as a very young teenager, setting Mr Lammala's science lab table on fire, numerous driving violations....oh the things I could tell People Magazine and Entertainment Tonight if you make it big ;)In any case, hope the guy with the big ears chooses you two to be in his club.
